Feng Shui Finances

Is it possible to use Feng Shui to increase your household finance situation? Who knows! But it is certainly worth a try. Feng Shui is all about positive and negative energy sources. There are certain symbols, colors to use and directions furniture should face in order to increase the positive “Chi” energy in certain aspects of family life.

The Wealth Spot:

Taking the front door as the starting point, the Feng Shui spot for wealth in the home is located in the furthest left corner of the home. If this spot happens to be a washroom or laundry room there is no need to be alarmed. Adding a few positive symbols cannot hurt in this situation. However, focusing your efforts on the furthest left corner of the room in which bills are paid may be more helpful.

Positive Feng Shui Wealth Symbols:

~Water: Water is a very powerful Feng Shui symbol. It carries the positive energy flow. There are however a couple of conditions to take into consideration with the water symbol. It needs to be clean and clear to work well at influencing the family wealth.

~Antique coins: Antique coins or for frugal fanatics, some foreign currency or even simple regular change will do.

~Gold and Red: The colors red and gold in the form of paint or cloth.

Placement of Symbols:

The room in which family finances are handled should contain at least a desk and a chair. The desk should be made out of wood and the chair should have a decent backing as well as tall sturdy armrests. The desk should face the door in order to see who is coming into the room. The chair should have a solid wall (without windows or doors) behind it and a window to the right of it.

The water symbol could come in the form of a fish tank, mini fountain or even a simple jug. The water should remain clean and clear, change the water every few days for good measure. The water symbols should be in the furthest left corner of the room if at all feasible.

The antique coins can be hung by red string and dangled as wind chimes or simply put on the desk in a gold or red bowl. Gold or red cloth can be placed underneath the coins in the bowl as a cushion if so desired.

Artwork in this room should consist of images of desired objects or values. For instance, a painting of Paris if a goal is to travel or a picture of a college that a family member would like to attend. Another idea is to place quotes of financial wisdom on the desk and around the room.

Frugal Fanatic Tip:

Void the room of clutter and have a garage sale. A garage sale is a profitable way to get rid of unnecessary clutter and provide change for the Feng Shui change jar that should be resting on the desk in the finance room.
