Top 10 organic purchases to ease into buying organics

Dr. Greene has outlined the top 10 (plus a bonus!) organic choices you can make and placed them in order of importance, making it easy for you to start slowly while still making a huge positive impact on your family’s health.

“You can start making your organic purchase with the first item on the list or, find the item you consume the most of and start with that. If you can only buy 1 organic item a week, it’s still worth it!”

And this week, I found organic butternut and acorn squash at my local grocers for $1.99 lb. The non-organic squash was $1.89 per pound! That’s only a $0.10 – 10 cents – difference in price. And as noted a month or so back, organic apples were once again cheaper per pound than the non! Do price per pound comparisons and you’ll find great deals too!

And here’s the list as mentioned by Dr. Greene:

Item #1 — Milk

Item #2 — Potatoes

Item #3 — Peanut Butter

Item #4 — Baby Foods – we note the foods you will be making for your baby

Item #5 — Catsup

Item #6 — Cotton

Item #7 — Apples

Item #8 — Beef

Item #9 — Soy

Item #10 — Corn

Bonus Item — Wine

Organic Find of the Week

I’ve been trying to post my <cheap> Organic food finds when I have gone grocery shopping.

Just this Saturday I found Organic Avocados for a pretty smooth price.

Yep, Organic avocados were selling for $3.79 for 4 avocados.

Conventional avocados were selling for $3.69 for 4 avocados.

While there was no bargain here, the cost differential makes buying the Organic avocados pretty cheap!
