Wholesomebabyfood.com was born with one goal in mind.
The goal of this website is to inspire parents to make their own baby food. What we continually hear from parents is that they have gained confidence to make their own baby food from our visiting the website. They realize that commercial baby food is not superior and that they can feed their babies healthier, fresher and more tasty foods.
Parents tell us that they have realized that they don't have to "become vegetarian, eat only all Organic foods, shun commercial baby products, use only cloth diapers and otherwise become "crunchy". (Of course doing some of the aforementioned would make this world more healthy.)
When we receive these comments we feel very blessed and pleased because our most important message has been, and continues to be conveyed. It is so easy to make your own baby food and once you begin, good healthy eating habits will automatically flow.
In the end, it is our sincere goal to help parents disengage from the myth that commercial baby foods are superior and somehow magical. In doing so, we hope that they will become less reliant on overly-processed, pre-packaged foods as their children grow. Starting healthy eating habits early will put our children on a road to good health and nutrition that will last a lifetime.

Our History and Humble Beginnings
These <surprise.> twin boy bundles of joy were the inspiration for this website. I'm Maggie, Editor and Owner of wholesomebabyfood.com. All of my boys were raised on all Homemade Baby Food; after studying nutrition for many years, I knew homemade was best. My children's love of healthy wholesome food, and a willingness to try almost any new food, stems from the fact that Homemade Baby Food has allowed them a wider variety of tastes and textures.
Maggie with the Twins
I have proudly and successfully fledged an 18 year old who just entered his freshman year at my alma mater. I studied nutrition and criminal justice while in college and entered the legal field focusing on technology. With the birth of my first child, I once again focused on nutrition and raised my son on homemade baby food. At the time, many proclaimed me to be a “hippie” and wondered about this “homemade baby food stuff”.
With the arrival of my twin boys, I took the opportunity to leave the corporate world and stay at home with my twins. Once again, people questioned my “earthy-crunchy” behavior as I focused on nutrition and began to “spread the word” about the benefits of homemade baby food. A local Moms group had asked me to do a presentation on how to make homemade baby food and I developed a presentation to place on the web for all to review.
Due to the persistent requests of all who viewed and reviewed it; this presentation would grow to be WholesomeBabyFood.com. Thanks to all who poked, prodded and pushed for the publishing. Taking pediatric and nutrition advice, medical recommendations and my own knowledge of making baby food, WholesomeBabyFood.com was born in 2003.
With information from a variety of resources such as the AAP, the CDC, the WHO and consulting dieticians, nutritionists and physicians, I believe we have put together a comprehensive site that will have you on your baby food making way in no time at all.
Making your own baby food is really one of the most wonderful things you can do for your baby. It takes less time than you would imagine and is easy as 1-2-3.
Please also note that the information presented in this website is not meant to be taken as medical advice. We are not licensed medical physicians, and thus the information presented should not replace the medical advice of your doctor or pediatrician.
Where we are
wholesomebabyfood.com is based in the United States. We are aware that some recipes, ideas and/or recommendations for the introduction of supplemental feeding will vary from country to country. As such, our compilations are geared to be conservative and general in nature. It would be impossible for our website to address all of the variations and customs of every individual country concerning the introduction of supplemental feeding for infants.
Our Mission
Making your own baby food is really one of the most wonderful things you can do for your baby. It takes less time than you would imagine - approximately one hour per week.
We sincerely hope that our website will help babies and parents everywhere benefit from the great experience of making Fresh, Wholesome, Homemade baby food.
Our Funding
Wholesomebabyfood.com is a privately owned website that is not sponsored by any medical or corporate entity. Our site utilizes affiliate advertising to defray the costs of hosting and running the site.
